Is it worth it, they ask? ABSOFREGGINGLUTELY!

Here it job, my life, my love!!! This beautiful store takes everything I’ve got to keep it open but I love it and I wouldn’t change a thing...well, maybe a few things but overall, it gives me great happiness to know that my hard work pays off.  All those hours spent in 100 degree weather, sanding until my entire visible body is covered in grime still makes it worth the pay off.  Working 6 days a week painting, bill paying, shopping, event planning, Facebook posting, managing, staging, customer service...still makes it worth the pay off.  The “pay-off” isn’t about money (Lord knows), it’s about making people happy. About giving my customers a store to come into that inspires them to make their homes beautiful. My mother taught me at a young age that you don’t have to be rich to have a beautiful home, you just have to have a vision. She gave me that vision at an early age and she’s the one we should all be thanking. Without her wisdom, I would be stuck behind a desk in some windowless office working for someone else. While that’s ok for some people, it’s not ok with me. Without my vision...I couldn’t pass it on to others.  I crave creativity. Without it, my life is meaningless. Ive always been a creative. And now, my beautiful son and daughter are following my in my footsteps, which make me very, very, happy.  Life is too short to be stuck in a job or a life that doesn’t fulfill you. Being self employed is hard and not for everyone. Sometimes you have to make HUGE sacrifices in order to make things work. Sometimes those sacrifices hurt your marriage, your sanity, your self dignity but each entrepreneur is different. You have to question the pay far will you go for that pay-off?
